I first set up on inside the server in the odbc control panel...it
worked fine, so I went into cfadministrator and setup another one...it
didn't verify, but if I go into the odbc control panel and check the one
I setup in CF...it verifies....strange eh?

Are you using CF5? This was a lot easier on CF4.5 (and about the only
that was) as it had the native drivers in CF...
But CF5 doesn't...

So what driver EXACTLY are you using?
