I first set up on inside the server in the odbc control panel...it worked fine, so I went into cfadministrator and setup another one...it didn't verify, but if I go into the odbc control panel and check the one I setup in CF...it verifies....strange eh?
Are you using CF5? This was a lot easier on CF4.5 (and about the only that was) as it had the native drivers in CF... But CF5 doesn't... So what driver EXACTLY are you using? ~~ Stephenie > |-----Original Message----- > |From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > |Sent: Wednesday, September 04, 2002 5:43 PM > |To: CF-Community > |Subject: RE: Oracle Issues > | > | > |Stephenie, > | > |Did you set up the dsn in CF Administrator / Data > |Sources / ODBC? > | > |Even though we're using the Oracle driver, not ODBC, > |still had to go there, do that. > | > |Following the earlier example, pointed CF at "BLAH". > | > |-Ben > | > |> Yes the oracle client is on the server, vs is Oracle 8.1.7 > |The client > |> can connect, we have verified this by using the little > |test utility, > |> as well as verifying the DSN through the ODBC control > |panel (one dsn > |> created with MS oracle driver, the other with the Merant > |driver that > |> comes with CF) Both verify inside windows, but fail in CF > |> > |> ~~ > |> Stephenie Hamilton > |> > |> > |> > |> > |-----Original Message----- > |> > |From: Kevin Gilchrist [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > |> > |Sent: Wednesday, September 04, 2002 5:31 PM > |> > |To: CF-Community > |> > |Subject: RE: Oracle Issues > |> > | > |> > | > |> > |This can be a real bear to deal with sometimes. > |> > | > |> > |Have you installed the Oracle client on the machine (not ODBC)? > |> > | > |> > |What version of Oracle are you using? > |> > | > |> > |-----Original Message----- > |> > |From: Stephenie Hamilton > |[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > |> > |Sent: > |Wednesday, September 04, 2002 5:02 PM > |> > |To: CF-Community > |> > |Subject: Oracle Issues > |> > | > |> > |I have a client who is running a dedicated CF5 server and a > |> > |dedicated Oracle server.
