I'm in the same boat as you... went to 99 in Boston. The "Special Event"
was at Gillian's near the ball park. Four levels of eats and games. The
crab cakes that they brought around were awesome! Spent the night shooting
pool and alternating between Jack Daniels and Guinness (bad idea...).
Missed the bus and stumbled back to the hotel. What a night...

'00 in DC was also great. My kid uses the lunch box to tote around his
HotWheels cars. Favorite moment was wandering around downtown DC after the
special event (skipped most of it cuz the food sucked.) looking for a place
to watch the Phoenix Coyotes hockey game. Like you are going to find any
television in DC on election night that isn't covering the returns...
Finally gave up and went drinking at the hotel bar and shot some more
pool... Got absolutely wasted the night before the conference started and
just about died (splitting headache) when the overly loud music started for
the opening session.

'01 and '02... no $$$, the cheap bastards! Can't be sending the developers
to DisneyLand when there are starving engineers that get $$$ so they can be
trained on how to get training...

Subject: favorite devcon moments ...

Ok, so I couldn't get in on the body shots/open bar discussion because it
all came in at the same time in a big lump ... so anyone have any other
favorite devcon moments?

'99 in Boston -- man, what was the name of the bar that they bussed us all
to ... was a woman's name if I remember correctly ... free video games and
drinks and food ... then walked back to the hotel with a CFer from Florida
and ended up at a hole in the wall bar, something like the Dead Poet's? Can
you tell my memory sucks?

'00 in DC -- well, of course, the Allaire lunch boxes! And watching the
Presidential returns at Union Station where the music wasn't any good and
the food was soso and well, Boston was much more fun ...

'01, '02 -- boohoo, no money to go ...
