As I understand it, cells in the datagrid are limited to displaying strings. The value you have showing up is Flash's 'pointer' to the object you are referencing. If you want images in the grid, you have to 1) extend it (I have no idea how to do so) or 2) make something of your own (which is not that hard, given a little bit of time).
