the only thing i would suggest changing is the size of the pop up windows,
at the moment you have to scroll to see the whole image when you select one

I still use Film.

Currently for action shots I use my Nikon N90s with my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 I
have been known to put a 2x teleconverter on it which gives me 400mm at
f/5.6 I use 800 speed Fuji Press film.

Until I can afford a Nikon D1x I will continue to use film, it is still the
best. Digital is getting better, but at the expense for the things I do, it
just isn't worth is.

You are absolutely right about manual focus, the equestrian shots that I
take are all based on that. Also you should learn to lead the subject, in
the case or Dog Agility, you should learn the course and find a good spot.
I always concentrate on only one or two jumps, and try to move locations.
After the first couple of competitors you will get a good idea of how the
course is running, using a tripod or a monopod you can keep the camera on a
single point while still moving your head to keep track of the dog, when it
gets close, watch the camera and shoot. Panning the camera slightly with
the dog in focus will help create a sense of motion, you will want to try a
few different things.
