I got laid off from a consulting firm/ MS education partner in 2001. It
was a "we dont have enough work for all 30 of you".
So now, I am trying to battle being in a non-profit organization with
1500 employees and trying to cater to everyone's web needs. So, yeah, I
guess it's safe to say there's a bit of commenting missing from my code
;)

nope.
not over reacting at all..

here is one thing that has recently came to a head.
i was laid off on Monday.

now before the lay off i had several apps that i was working on a
week.
usually a needed turn around of 4 days.

due to this time constraint corners needed to be cut.
one major one was proper commenting of the code.

now that i am gone, i am sure in a few months they will be asking why
certain things where written in a particular fashion.

well hey! if you would have given an extra day or so per app to be
properly
commented you wouldn't be asking this.
but every thing is always due yesterday..
