Whatever you used to assume to know about everyday life, such as getting a driver's license, passport, opening a bank account, having online payment accounts, ... Almost anything ...... Just throw it out the window.
Everything you used to take for granted needs to be looked at again. Because the repercussions of 9-11, terrorists, mondey laundering and whatever wars are out there right now, are still being felt and the people who are in charge of all this stuff are using at an excuse (however good or bad) to clamp down on every private area of our lives in order to create a more secure world. Not that this really affects me, but a friend of mine was just complaining because in order to open a bank account, she needed to have two forms of ID. Well duh, yeah. The banks have regulations to uphold and this is an apparently unsteady world these days, so yeah, you need two form of ID. Big deal. "But I didn't used to years ago ... Why now?" Um ... Er... I had nothing to say. If she couldn't figure it out ... Well I certainly wasn't up to explaining it all. So if you haven't done any personal paperwork for years, such as opening a new bank account or getting ID ... Just remind yourself, it's not likely to be as easy as it used to be.
