genetically, he wasn't (unless he had Jewish relatives in his past) but as a
convert he would be treated as if he was. Of course, I'm not sure on how he
was converted so I can't speak of it directly. I can speak of some people
who I know as converts and I can tell you that at least in one case, the
convert married the daughter of a well to do family, history wise.
