i cannot see how people electing the president directly makes the federal
government more powerful at all.

There are a bunch who arent' elected at all but dont' get me started on that
(I believe supreme court justices should be ELECTED)

If there was no electoral college then every vote would really count.  I
like that idea.

I don't think that we have"a person who has the support of the majority of
the people who voted" in office right now, so your logic doesn't hold water
for me.

EACH person would have a vote. Which is how i think an election should work.
But thats just me.
