I think that is an excellent ad.

As I was reading it, _I_ wanted to apply.

(and I am perfectly happy where I am.)

Hope you find someone who will appreciate (and deserve) the job.

If you were young, fresh, and looking for a job..would an offer like
this interest you?? Or is it just too silly and informal....and would
you just ignore it...??

Hey all,

Our company has an opening for a web programmer, so I thought I'd
forward the info to this list first. Pay is going to be around US$-US$
take home depending on skill level. Contract is for about a year, you'll
be paid with a $US cheque.

Our company is small, and does web development strictly for
International clients. We don't do any work at all locally.

The environment is very relaxed, dress code is jeans, sneakers and a
t-shirt. Benefits are a great working environment, and exciting jobs for
large clients including Center Point Energy,The Louisiana school
board, and the Lafayette Cajun Dome Organisation to name a few. We also
have high speed dedicated bandwidth to our offices.(High speed = True
Broadband...400kbps-1Mbps.)

You'll also be involved in a company branded software package which we
are developing in-house that will be sold commercially.
The app will include interfacing FlashMX with Coldfusion MX ,the new
Macromedia Communications Server, all hitting a variety of database
backends including MySQL, MS SQL, and Oracle. We think it will bring
communications between companies and their clients over the web to new
levels and will put you on the razor's edge of technology and the
emerging New Media Interfaces of the internet :)

Requirements: Intermediate-Advanced level in any web based programming
language including: Java,.ASP,Coldfusion,PHP,C#,Flash Actionscript,.Net
VB to name a few.

Candidates must also have knowledge of design and be able to integrate
business logic with graphic templates/pages passed onto them by a web
designer. These pages will include Flash as well as Dynamic HTML,
Javascript etc. So you gotta know how to get your stuff working with all
that happening on the page simultaneously. They must know how to use
Style Sheets.

Knowledge of Flash MX with Remoting would be a plus, but isn't entirely
necessary.

Candidate must also possess a willingness to learn and a desire to be at
the forefront of technology. We're talking pushing websites to cell
phones, Tablet PC interfaces, developing apps to work wirelessly over
blue tooth and/or with WEP, understanding the basic types of attacks
that can be made against websites, protecting SQL calls from URL line
attacks...cool stuff, but also the useful and important stuff :)

Degrees and Certifications would help, but are also optional. We need
someone with experience who has done this stuff before, and can hit the
ground running. Your resume should include good examples of stuff you've
done, whether personally or for clients that are live. Done something
cool in Flash? Send the .swf file...stuff like that.

Make it exciting, make it interactive.
We aren't your traditional Trinidad Web company...and we don't want
traditional employees.

Surprise us ;-)

Hmmm?
I'm trying to catch the attention of young people like myself on a few
tech mailing lists in Trinidad...
