This is actually a rather popular candy in eastern Europe.  By the way, the
pork fat is salted, which greatly enhances the flavor and makes you
salivate.  It's about the same level of salt in the peanut butter of a
Reece's peanut butter cup, and has the same effect.  The chocolate covering
is a rather high quality bittersweet chocolate.  I've seen the stuff being
made.

Before you think this is revolting, understand that the taste and sensation
are similar to the smooth, creamy filling of a chocolate truffle.  There is
almost no pork flavor to it because it is highly refined.

In Russia, pork fat is called "Sal" and is often thickly spread on dark
bread for a quick lunch, somewhat like buttered pumpernickel in Germany.  If
you ever see a candybar from Europe (typically Ukrane) in a red wrapper with
Cyrillic lettering that looks like "Calo," that's what it is.  If you don't
see it, ask them for "Sallo."
