At the same time, Erlich (the Republican candidate) has made a number of statements before the areas' sniper attacks that indicated that he was on the extreme end of the pro-gun group. Then during these incidents and afterwards he completely flip-flopped on gun control. Instead of wanting to repeal most of Maryland's gun control laws, as he mentioned, he's now talking about strengthening and extending them.
If you're going to slam one side for attempting to take advantage of the situation, lets make sure all sides get their due. The Maryland Republicans are just as guilty as the Maryland Democrats. Moreover look at the source of most of these ads on both sides of the issues, they're not the Democratic or Republican parties, the funding sources are lobbying and pressure groups. Seems to me that that's something more deserving of criticism instead of political parties acting as they are supposed to. larry -- Larry C.
