Not arguing the israel thing again. You may not be religious, but if all of
the "non religious jews" in israel are as sided as you are, then you're
right - it sounds pretty equal over there.

Explain to you what it has to do with oil? Sure, but you can't attack my
reading comprehension skills just for having an opinion afterwards. That
doesn't seem fair :)

US gives money to Arabs for oil. A LOT of it.

US gives weapons to Israel. A LOT of it.

Because the Arabs are in conflict with Israel, they spend that money on
weapons to keep up with Israel's arsenal.

If Israel and the Arabs were at peace with each other, setting their small
issues aside and becoming one people - Israel wouldn't need that many
weapons to defend itself, and there wouldn't be such a need for the arabs to
purchase so many weapons.

That money would instead be spent on things like - oh I don't know - maybe
living in things other than shacks? Eventually their people would liberate
and be able to catch up with modern science/medicine/industry/and everything
else that makes us all so rich.

They might even have a use for all that oil they send us. Oh wait, we don't
want to have to beg them for that, and we want to put them into a position
where they have to sell it to us for cheap. Better keep that conflict going.

I know this is a very simplistic, high level view of it, and that people
would rather focus on it from a micro scale - (suitcase bombs, retaliating
with missiles, etc), but it's impossible to look at it from that level
forever.

Adam.
