My little Tupperware 4-banger of a Saturn gets 37-38 mpg highway in the
winter (rather less with the AC going, though). It's rated at 40 -- I was
astounded that it even came close, since I was driving fast through
mountains when I tested it.
Of course, I can't run over Volkswagons with impunity, like you can. :-)
But I /can/ park in much tighter spaces.
