Actually I don't think that they advertise with ActiveX, but the
software is.

Actually (even more) the software is (or was) almost all free microsoft
software: the "Agent Technology" stuff (which includes the voice
recongition, dynamic control, etc) is all free stuff from MS (it's
basically an ActiveX-controllable version of the office assistant - but
with voice control and synthesis).

Pretty cool stuff actually.  We did a small demo (that was never funded)
than used it to walk people through the rather complex process of
filling out insurance forms.  Rated pretty high on usability tests
(although many people did have trouble understanding the voice... But
adding word ballons seemed to fix that).

I'm sad that it's only big "success" story is that purple monkey...
