I think it's a great idea. I mean most other nations have some sort of obligatory service, and if a person is a true pacifist you can always have them work in medical facilities and stuff.
Truth be told I am very surprised that it was this man to put it forward. I know I gained a lot as a person from my two years(US army, not Singapore). I don't think this is exactly what the senator is suggesting, though. I think he is just trying to make it more personal so those in power will bear the same burden that the "common" mom's and dad's do. -----Original Message----- From: Nick McClure [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, December 30, 2002 11:34 AM To: CF-Community Subject: Manditory Military Service http://www.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/12/29/mandatory.military/index.html That's right folks, get ready, cause we're all goin' to war. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox.
