Got a nicer (still inherited) CPU at work -- a desktop machine as opposed to
a low-end server. Tried just dropping my old HDD in and hoping Win2K would
just pick up on the new hardware, but knew in my heart of hearts that it was
false hope. Thought I'd backed everything up to the other partition & a CD,
but managed to miss my Outlook rules (could have been worse) and my current
mail (worse). I /did/ manage to grab my archived mail, but that's not half
as helpful as the things I got last week would have been.
I hate windows. I hate MS. I'm working on New Years Day because if I
don't, I won't have the software installed that I need to get $h17 done
around here.

On the other hand, I went to a club last night with my boss and his wife --
had a great time. For those of you who know Lexington, Fred (my boss)
decided we should go to 141, but apparently I was the only one who knew that
it catered to alternative lifestyles. :-) For once, I felt drab wearing my
royal blue velvet 'party shirt'!
And a good time was had by all. Except the Chinese, who won't celebrate New
Years for a couple of months. :-)
