The NTSC spec is 30 frames per second (and lines of resolution as so
forth).  But I believe that a source can choose to send more if it
wishes.

I'm not sure what the upper limit is, but I think that it has to do with
the (interlaced) refresh rate of the TV.  There are many console games
that boast "rock solid 60fps" so it must be able to do at least that...
