Alright - thanks for the great pointers everyone. 

FYI - my wife says she closed up the toy room last night (this is in the
area that gets little heat) and she said it was defintely warmer this
morning. Would having a long hallways with no vents in it kind of suck
the heat out of the other rooms with open doors?
