I think that the historicaly precendent for this tax break actually came
from farm equipment (or so I've been told). In other words, it was
originally designed to help farmers pay for the big 3/4 ton pickups they
need to haul trailers and such.

A coworker of mine actually considered using this tax break (her husband is
self-employed). But, they went with the $5000 tax break for buying a hybrid
car, instead.
