When we were sleep-deprived new parents, I would sometimes find myself walking into a room (our bedroom), and then standing there trying to remember what it was that I was about to do (cuddle with my wife, then have an unbroken night's sleep) !!
Fortunately, the babies will begin sleeping through the night, and you will "get a life" again.
