regarding skewing the facts, if you're basing that on what you've read in
another news media, how do you know who's skewing who?

I'm of the opinion that unless its first hand observation, the media is so
unreliable, so manipulated, That you can never trust what you
read/watch/hear.

Misrepresentation should have been used rather than defense. They 'skew' the
facts heavily. Actually, the article you posted below is not the one I was
reading originally (I also read articles from other sources like
arutzsheva.com
and arab papers).
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/02/17/international/middleeast/17MIDE.html
Here's a different one. Lets look at some lines:
"At least six members of the Palestinian group Hamas died in a mysterious
explosion in Gaza City today, hours after Israel's defense minister vowed
retaliation for a Hamas bombing in Gaza on Saturday that destroyed an
Israeli
tank and killed the four soldiers inside. "
The implication is that the 6 were killed in retaliation. An implication
with no
proof or facts, but made none the less (or at least thats how I read it).
" Hamas blamed Israel for the blast today, suggesting that the men were
killed
by a booby-trapped toy plane. "
No indication of what Hamas was doing. Just that its a toy plane and it was
booby trapped. Might as well have been a toy bear from that.
" Israel has tracked down and killed scores of militants, often without
claiming
responsibility. Many have also died by accidentally triggering bombs they
were
assembling. "
Actually, Israel does claim responsability to all terrorists (not militants.
They're terrorists) killed within Israel and the disputed territories. At
least
the author was honest about the accidents but its not actually linked to the
claim as an alternative view. Hamas's claim is given all the weight.

call
that skewing the facts.
