We bought the video Last Orders from the remaindered bin at Blockbuster on the weekend and watched it over the last two nights. It was really a treat; a great story and a great cast: Michael Caine, Bob Hoskins, Helen Mirren and some excellent supporting British actors including a lovely woman playing the younger Helen Mirren character and a Jude Law look-alike playing the younger Michael Caine....
An intricate story line and lots of human interest, it's basically the remembrances by the friends, wife, and son, of Jack (Michael Caine) who has died and is cremated and wants his ashes cast off the end of the pier in the seaside town of Margate. The flashbacks to early days are set against the backdrop of the Second World War and rural/small town England. Jack and his wife Amy have a daughter who is severely mentally retarded and was sent away to live in a home when she was a baby. Might sound kind of dull, but it's actually funny and sad and touching. I had a bit of trouble catching all the dialogue as the accents are fairly thick, but it wasn't too bad. If you can find it it's a good evening's entertainment! -Patrick ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
