re: "spending a bit of money"
one of the nicer places to eat inside Disneyland is the Blue Bayou, which is alongside
the water (inside) at Pirates of the Caribbean. Expensive, but decent full-service
restaurant.
in Downtown Disney, we enjoyed Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen.
We ate dinner in the bar, listened to an awesome Dixieland quartet who have been
playing music together for over 20 years.
There's also the Rainforest Cafe, but make reservations.
Also if a sports fan, the ESPN place.
