Hi all, Are there any electricians or wanna-be electricians in the house? I'm looking for a tool that'll measure the power consumption of a particular device. I've got a runaway electric bill, and we can't figure out what device in the house is causing the power consumption to go higher and higher with each passing day. We originally thought it to be one of my PCs, but this isn't the case. We suspect it's either the fridge or the fish tanks.
I've tried Google and can't seem to come up with any results. (I don't even know if such a tool exists.) Ideally, what I'd like to do is plug a device into this unit, plug the unit into the wall, and have it display to me what voltage (or draw) the device is actually running at. Worse comes to worse, I guess I'd need to hire a licensed electrician, but at $500 for an investigation of the house wiring, I'd rather try to find it myself first. Thanks! -V ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
