if you don't need a 2k advanced server i wouldn't both domains are not all
that hard to setup but if you do something wrong you can completely fubar
Active directory. But hell if you have nothing better to do go for it! :)
good luck

But if you just install 2k ad server without fiddling too much you should be
alright overall.

Subject: What Would Scooby Do?

Ok, my new high tech office (HAHAHAHAHA) has an internet connection, some
sort of linksys router and firewall but no real network.

One of my first out of scope jobs to purchase a server. We need filesharing
for sure. Some security would be nice, but we dont' deal with anything
confidential really so not as important as some other industries. Ability
to back up files is essential. But since the office has been managing
without a server for so long the office could manage without one should the
server fail.

All 12 workstations (maybe 13 by that time) will be running XP pro.

What should i buy? Should i buy a 2000 license to manage a domain or not
bother? There is a budget for the server, but i have no idea what it is.
