A letter from my congressman received today, informs me that the legislative proposal under consideration by the Department of Justice that was leaked to the Center for Public Integrity, has not even been introduced in either house of the Congress as legislation.
He further stated that while he feels it is imperative that Congress strike a careful balance between protecting the security of our nation, while preserving our valued Constitutional freedoms. "I will not support legislation that drastically undermines the guiding principles of our nation's founding fathers." His letter was in response to my query for information about this proposed legislation.
