OK, been there, done that.
4 hours, mostly HUAW -
Hurry Up And Wait.
Sign forms.
Wait.
Get IV in elbow.
Wait.
Isotope into IV.
Wait.
Scintillation camera - ring like CT:
lie very still for 20 minutes.
Wait.
EKG resting in chair.
Wait.
OK, a little excitement now:
get on treadmill (still wired),
speed and incline increase.
Anothe dose of isotope into IV (still on treadmill).
Target: 90% of Max Heart Rate
220 - age=53 = 167, 90% = 151.
Oops, treadmill mis-programmed,
pulse goes to 161 = 96% of MHR !!!
(thump Thump THUMP!)
Cool down more EKG.
Wait 20 minutes.
Drink yucky "chocolate" drink in can.
Sorry, no water allowed].
Wait.
Wait.
Wait.
Finally, another 20 minutes of "hold still" in the camera.
IV removed.
Go homr.
