Off topic a bit but it's a funny story about Dio. A few years ago, I was playing roadie for a friend's band. They were playing a local club opening up for Ronnie James Dio. This was about 1995 or 1996. Well Ronnie was being a royal a$$. Here he was playing a 150 seat club and acting like he just sold out 3 nights at MSG. My frined Alan, the bass player, went up to say hello to Ronnie and shake his hand. Dio just put his nose in the air and turned the other way. This really pissed off Alan.
So they are doing the sound check and Dio is standing at the back of the club. For those who have ever seen him, you know that Dio is all of about 5'4" tall. So my friend Alan sees Dio in the back, gets down on his knees, pulls the mic stand down, and sings" We're the last in liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine".
