I sent a letter to Strom Thurmond a few years back about the Nuclear Test
Ban Treaty.  I got a response from his office explaining his position about
2 weeks later.  Then again, I'm sure the president's staff has more mail to
sort through than that of a senator.

I didn't even ask for a response.  It was nice to know that at least someone
looked at what I had sent in.
