Man i would have to say the worst job is not a iraqi firefighter. Possibly any allied forces in the air. 2 crashed blackhawks, 2 seaknights colliding. A mystical patriot missile which shoots down a Friendly fighter. And on NPR they just said FARMERS shot down 2 apache's. Now i don't know if the specs on apache's have changed but an AK47 isn't going to penetrate the thick armor on the apaches. I do remember in 1991 the apache rotors had problem with all the dust. Did they fix that issue? Poor bastards in that apache hope we don't see them getting pulled around dead or messed with like the iraqi's seem to be doing.
Todd when you were in the service did there seem to be all these helo problems or you think its just a rotten few days the rush of war and the drain on being awake for so many hours straight etc etc or just acombination of all of the conditions? And when did you get out? Wouldn't you be on inactive reserves still for 5 years or so when you leave the military? Just wondering why they didn't pull you back in? Thinking your job was not as demanding and they didn't need to pull back or you medically discharged whats up!!? :) My friend was in the marines left in 89 was on active reserves got pulled back as a FAC in 1991. He was a chinook driver but they converted him to a Forward Air Controller because they were short on them. Then he was on inactive reserve and he got pulled back again and hes a FAC with the 2nd MEF sitting snugg as a bug in a rug in a Abrams. I'm pretty happy he's in there not much safer then being into a tank to never be defeated in battle. I'm sure all the people who think this is wrong to go into iraqi think its fine for iraqi soldiers to be doing all this becuase we're the evil aggressor's right? We invaded him so they can violate the rules of war and do such wonderful things right?
