Well, BenB's back to work but I'm not.

I had my Dr's appointment on Friday. They cut off the cast that's had been
on since I got out of the hospital. Found out that there are three
incisions... one on either side and one in the middle and they took out the
35 or so staples. The new cast puts my foot at a 90 degree angle (as
opposed to the roughly 110 or 120 degree angle that it was at with the toes
pointing down and out).

I also got to see the x-ray and found out exactly what's in me. I have 11
screws and a plate... two screws on the inside of the ankle and 9 on the
outside. On that vein does anyone have any suggestions on reading a human
barometer?

Called work and scheduled an appointment with the HR person to ask about
work. I'm in a wierd situation since I started the new job on Feb 1 and
fell (on the job) on Feb 24. I was in a 90 day evaluation period that and
had the same delay for my benefits. The meeting was to see about finding a
desk job for me and asking the carefully worded question, "is the 90 days
based on date of hire or days worked?"

The result was a good one, they decided that for my benifits they would
start them based on the date of hire. They also decided that my
probation/evaluation period would be based on the actual time worked.
However, they don't want me back in the office until I can do the job that I
was hired to do, so that means that I'm off work on worker's comp until the
middle or end of May.

Can someone say cabin fever, stir crazy, get me outta here!!!

Hatton
