I'm not naive enough to drive 80 on snow. BTW when CA requires chains on 2WD and snow tires on 4WD, the speed limit drops to 25 mph for all vehicles. If anyone is going faster than that, yes they are idiots.
My speed is not "greatly decreased" in 4WD - I have full-time electronic 4WD which activates via a center differential based on a wheel losing traction. But in some of my experiences turning and braking on snow or ice, I felt less secure in my full-time 4WD than in a 2WD with either steel link or cable chains. But I feel a lot more secure on wet pavement. -Ben ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
