Please stop this. Surveys can be twisted by the way the questions are asked. In essence the US took a stand point diametrically opposed to that of France (and many other countries in the world) and as such its people will have diametrically opposed views. 'Schadenfreude' will occur. Did you wish the Chechians (spelling?) would win out over the Russians? Russians were invading....
Their opposition to the US/UK invasion is understandable. The need to go into Iraq is understandable after 12 years of ongoing failed inspections. The need to do this at the expense of UK/US life and money? <shrug> Personally I believe this not to be the case, but we are there now and need to be 100% behind our troops. That does not mean I am 100% behind the cause. Our neighbour's son is currently in Um Qasr. It is very hard for them, but he chose this career path and was still happy with his decision. He understood what his job would involve. I found it strange when they interviewed a US soldier who was 'hoping' he would not have to go to war ever. I mean why did he join the army?
