This sort of thing has been going on for a while. Securityfocus had a bunch of alerts about eBay admin spoofers looking for people's information.
One case that happened a few months ago was really awful. The kicker was that one company had purchased a domain, I think it was ebayadmin.com or something, that they used to send the main. As I remember, it was a couple in Florida that was behind the scam.
