I am still a big fan of Painter (Metacreations sold Painter to Corel a while ago), and own a copy of Painter 6. It amazes my daughter's friends when I start painting on the computer.
The one thing that bugs me about all their products is the lack of native SVG support. At least this was the situation about a year ago when I was looking into ways of scripting SVG creation through Visual Basic. Would be nice to see that kind of functionality... their products are great for some things that are not overly complicated. Corel has just released new designs for its web sites (specifically Corel.com and Designer.com). Nothing groundbreaking in the redesigns, but they have improved things a bit. Designer.com especially is worth frequent visits. It offers (corel product focused) advice on design, free tools (macros/scripts, spray lists, etc), clipart and images (in Corel formats but which can be opened in most high-end tools). The announcement just reminded me of how much I like Corel's tools. I've been using Draw! since version 2 and it's just gotten better and better over the past 14 years.
