Getting back on topic...

The issue in the UK as to WHY we whent to war is very very important and
could easily lead to our Prime Minister's resignation or at least a vote of
no confidence.

Whether the outcome of the Iraq war is for good or bad is not at issue. It
is whether the government, in effect, put spin on the perceived threat to
amplify it enough for Government ministers (and in effect the public) to
agree to go to war.

I personally believe that Bush and Blair felt they were guaranteed to find
WMD's in Iraq and felt there was little risk in exagerating the risk.
Unfortunately this looks like it has fallen flat on its face.

There is an interesting article in 'The Week' over this issue. One example
they give was the report that Sadam had 1.5tonnes of VX Nerver gas soemtime
in the late 90s. No mention was made that this stuff has a shelf life of 8
weeks.
