Come to think of it, the ACHL (Aggregate Child Handling Load) calculation is
quite similar to that of particle count and particle proximity versus
critical mass in a nuclear reaction.

As you linearly increase the number of children, their "critical mass"
increases at an exponential rate that is itself exponentially accelerating.

Also, the smaller the space in which N children live, the greater the chance
of a reaction (hence the "Go outside and play!" safety switch).  As children
leave for college (or "spin out"), the chance of a reaction decreases.

This explains all the mushroom clouds...
