My dad does.
According to him, they get cleaner (I'm not sure about that) and they get
don't get stuck in the grid (agreed). Personally, I point them down, as
I've been stabbed a couple of times when jostled emptying the dishwasher and
it /hurts/.
But try convincing my dad that avoiding pain and bleeding is worth spots on
the knives.....
