I might also talk here about the idea that "Habah lihargecha, hashkem lihargo" (if one 
comes to kill you, kill him first.)  This would apply if you were sure that a person 
was planning and intending to kill you. Again, this all feeds into the criteria of 
self defense. One might argue that a known terrorist who is still loose would fit into 
the category of one who is coming to kill you, thus justifying Israel's actions in 
attacking known terrorist leaders who have planned hundreds of suicide bombs in the 
past.

I know I'm straying far afield from the original topic (should we fork this now or
