I host my e-mail and my development stuff off my servers at home running on
my DSL line. I also run my personal photography site

(Shameless Plug) http://www.nickmcclurephotography.com

I don't have any problems doing this. I have a MS Action pack I use for the
OS and the SQL Server. I have a copy of CF 5.0 I use for development, and
some of the advanced features on my site.

I have one Windows server, and one Linux Server that handles everything.
Works fine for me.
