These were my boss's reasons. He pretty much made the decision. We have already devoted a significant amount of resources to Cold Fusion Development and Macromedia Flash. It would be very wasteful in our opinion, to throw this knowledge out and would be problematic to attempt to integrate the two technologies. We feel that both platforms will be available and highly supported for the foreseeable future, hence going with the market leader is not as important. We have experimented with coding on the .Net platform and found that it takes significantly more lines of code and time to accomplish similar tasks. This is critical in our environment since we have only one full time developer. We are still somewhat concerned over the licensing of the system. We fully understand that Microsoft has changed its practices significantly over the past year, but we still have a bad taste in our mouth over past licensing problems. We also sampled many people in the development communities and found that there was no compelling reason to switch at this time.Candace K. If I may ask, what was the deciding factor? -----Original Message----- From: Candace Cottrell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 10:31 AM To: CF-Community Subject: My .NET vs. ColdFusion situation... update I am pleased as punch to report that we will not be switching to .NET and we will continue with our CF efforts. Now we are evaluating Content Management Systems that support CF. MedSeek is OUT. Commonspot and Merant Collage seem to be good contenders. Any other suggestions? Candace K.
