i completely agree with the end sentiment.

as per the issue of cars and guns, personally i don't have a problem with
any joe on the street carrying a gun if it makes them feel better. i'm by no
means a gun-nut, nor own / plan to own any firearms, but i see no reason one
should not be able to own a gun if they can also own a knife, kerosene, etc.

i also don't own a car, and it's nicey-nice that the government mandates
crash testing and the like.(which is more useful to prevent the deaths of
others as opposed to the idiot driver) i haven't owned a car in over 6 years
(yay dc metro) so i can't say the issue really affects me.

point is, nobody forced that fatman to eat mcdonalds, noone forces you to
buy an inferior car (yugo?), nobody mandates you eat at joe's smoky diner,
and no one except the person firing is responsible for the safety and use of
a firearm.

please, let people start taking accountability for their own actions instead
of forcing their values on me, k thnx.

You mean like cars, guns, etc? There are other legal products that the
government mandates usage on - smoking is not alone. On the other hand,
I tend to agree with you. If you don't like the smell of smoke at a
restuarant, why not just not go? Am I crazy or is that not a solution?
If you work at a restaurant that has too much smoke in it - find another
job.
