The electricity, the tech support The internet has never been free, there have always been costs, you may not have realized them, however you have always had to pay the phone company or somebody else to provide the physical line. You have always had to pay the electric company to power your computer.
Your tax dollars pay for the internet access at the library. Nothing is ever free.
