yeah, but if your number gets disconnected, you're out of the database, and
if you get a new number you need to register it. I'm not really complaining,
just a little puzzled.

Case in point. My parents have had the same phone number since we moved back
to Leavenworth, KS way back in 1980. According to the system, over the last
23 years they'd have had to re-register the same number 5 times, *and*
remeber to do so every five years, 'cause there isn't anything on the web
site that indicates they'll be sending a reminder notice when your
registration is about to expire. Seems a little odd, kinda like they're
giving the telemarketers a chance to get back in the door, so to speak.
