Alright everyone - This week, I've been managing the upgrade of our ArcIMS servers from v3 to 4, and it hasn't been pretty. My time has been eaten up by shape files, XML that lost it's well formedness, and technical support people who are baffled by the problems we have been having.
Now that I am waiting for ESRI to call back, I have a little time to work on our important project, which I have certainly not forgotten about: Michael's Machine. Here is the plan for how to approach this. Today will be the final day for the list of components. I am sending on the final version of the list as it stood last Friday - I know several people have sent in modifications, please send them again if you can (there have been so many emails, I am not sure if I can sort through them all). Please take a look at it and check for anything with your name next to it. If there are additional details, additions or subtractions to be made, please let me know about them today. Also, if anyone wants to add anything to their list, please do do! Additional parts are sure to help out. If you are reading this email on Monday, just email me directly at this address and I will see what we can do. What I will do is ask everyone to ship the parts directly to me at home. I will contact individuals with my home address, along with the items they have committed to sending. I will assemble the machine as parts roll in, and we will have this thing taken care of ASAP.
