This seems to be a day for rants, so here I go.

Relief has arrived.

Having spent the past two years using Outlook 2002, I finally gave up on it
yesterday when trying to download my email. Having been off the internet
for about 2 weeks, the number of emails in my box is pretty big, but not
outrageously huge (about 6000). Of course, a huge amount of this is spam
(having had my email address for about 6 years) and another huge amount is
my mailing lists. Outlook has given me so many problems over the past two
years that I've regularly wiped clean the drive and re-installed everything,
uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook, and disabled my AV, all in an attempt
to keep things speedy and operating smoothly. But...it still takes minutes
to start up when it does start up. It takes a whole day to download a
thousand messages. It causes my whole machine to crash. It's entirely
unproductive. But yestyerday I finally tried using Outllok Express and ....
Wow. Everything works. My messages come through quickly and into the right
folders. It's like I have a brand new life in email. I love it. I might
even sign up for more mail lists. :-) I feel like one of those Mac
commercials. My Outlook Express. I love it.
