I believe that study also found that the geology of the area would almost
definitely indicate no underwater caves of any size.

The best evidence I've seen so far is the confession of the photographer of
the famous "head and neck" picture that he faked it.

Another point is the story that a local had seen Nessy and then shot her
(one of the more celebrated sightings).  This was followed shortly by the
smaller story that an Atlantic sturgeon (about 15' in length if I remember
correctly) was found washed up on beach later on with a bullet wound.  ;^)
