See, the deal is, I'm not an administrator here. I'm just a lowly code girl who doesn't get anywhere near any of the servers (other than to stick my cf code on them). The campus has lots and lots and lots of administrators. It's what you might call a "distributed" system. So, each department handles things their own way. Then, of course, there's the dial-up pool of modems, and VPN for those home-workers. And the 40,000 students that are potentially hooked up one way or another. The big-wigs try to stay out of the business of each of the departments. But, apparently, this particular virus has been active enough that the big wigs have gotten involved.
In my particular department, if my IP were spewing garbage I'd be getting a call immediately. (I'd also be getting chewed out royally and most likely taken off line until it was fixed.) But not all departments work thusly. -Deanna ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jochem van Dieten" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, August 20, 2003 6:10 PM Subject: Clean off > Deanna Schneider wrote: > >It's bad enough here that the Chancellor has declared SoBig a campus crisis. > >They're meeting about it right now, apparently.
