An equally valid question: Does anyone believe the war will not carry on for another 10 years?
Your comment makes on wonder what insider knowledge, divine insight, or precognositcative ability you have that lets you know this war will not continue on in this state endlessly. There are millions of people outside the US who, deep down, want nothing more than to see our country go away. I get the feeling, despite the protestations that this war is about giving people freedom, they might not even understand what it is or what to do with it. One thing I do knowis that, when people are confronted with salient changes in their lifestyle and beliefs, they go to great lengths and struggle against actually having to make any changes. I can't see how the kinds of changes we are talking about will take place in less than a decade, or long enough for a new, more progressive generation to arrive. I can see the people who hate America carrying on and trying to preserve the status quo, tho.
