What is with everyone calling the 10 commandments the "moral
foundation of our law" all of the sudden?

The 10 commandments...
ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

Nothing to do with law.

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of
anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or
that is in the water under the earth.'

Nothing to do with law.

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'

Nothing to do with law. G*d Damn is not even one of the "7 deadly
words"

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

Nothing to do with law.

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'

Nothing to do with law.

SIX: 'You shall not murder.'

Woohoo! An actual law...

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'

Nothing to do with law. Unless you are a muslim fanatic who stones
women who do it.

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'

An actual law. Good one there...totally support it.

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'

Nothing to do with law, other than when you are in front of a
judge...ehh whatever...still not a law.

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet
your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant,
nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'

Nothing to do with law. My neighbor's female servant is kinda hot
though. Whatever.

Does anyone actually think the 10 commandments are the moral
foundation of our law?
